Beachwood Police incidents Sept. 19 to 27

 

Woman, officer spot coyote

Wednesday, Sept. 21, 6:03 p.m. — A woman reported that she saw a large coyote on her property near 26900 block of Annesley Road and the responding police officer reported that he saw it, too. The animal ran when the officer arrived, and police told the woman to call police if it was seen again.

Car stolen from Hilton parking lot

Thursday, Sept. 22, 5:01 p.m. — A man reported that his 2011 Infiniti was stolen from the Hilton Hotel parking lot between Monday, Sept. 19 and Thursday, Sept. 22.

Police respond to man breaking into own home

Friday, Sept. 23, 4:13 p.m. — Shaker Heights police called Beachwood police to report that a man was crawling through a window at a home near Green Road and Chagrin Boulevard. The man told Beachwood Police that he lived there and they confirmed it.

More than $10,000 in jewelry stolen from Hilltop home

Saturday, Sept. 24, 10:47 a.m. — A resident in the 24700 block of Hilltop Drive reported that someone stole more than $10,000 worth of jewelry from her bedroom.

Juvenile charged with shoplifting at Hollister

Saturday, Sept. 24, 6:35 p.m. — A juvenile was arrested and charged with stealing $45 of clothing from Hollister.

Several juveniles reported fighting at Fairfield Inn

Sunday, Sept. 25, 12:54 a.m. — An off-duty officer who was working a security detail at the Fairfield Inn called police to report that he was responding to a fight between several juveniles in a hotel room. Several fled the room when he arrived, but none were arrested. One woman reported that she was punched in the face during the fight but did not press charges. Police could not say how many juveniles were present.

Home burglary reported on Cedar Road

Sunday, Sept. 25, 1:33 p.m. — A resident in the 23500 block of Cedar Road reported a forced burglary at their home. As of Tuesday, police did not yet have a list of stolen goods or their value from the homeowner.

Driver blows more than .17% blood alcohol level

Sunday, Sept. 25, 4:33 a.m. — A driver was pulled over by police on Interstate 271 northbound after the officer said he was weaving and for going 86 miles per hour in a 65-mile-per-hour speed zone. The man, a 28-year-old from Richmond Heights, was charged with OVI after police report he blew over three times the legal limit on a Breathalyzer.

Resident reports neighbor’s barking dog

Sunday, Sept. 25, 6:01 a.m. — A resident of the 23500 block of Beachwood Boulevard reported that his neighbor’s dog was barking. Police called the neighbor and told him to quiet the dog.

Neighbor reports harassment over barking dog

Sunday, Sept. 25, 9:02 a.m. — A resident of the 23500 block of Beachwood Boulevard reported that his neighbor was harassing him by calling the police on his barking dog.

Fight leads to arrest at BP

Sunday, 5:25 p.m. — A fight between a man and a woman was reported at the BP Oil/AM-PM gas station. The man, aged 36 from Collins, OH, fled when police arrived, but officers caught him and arrested him, charging him for possession of drugs and resisting arrest. The woman was transported to the hospital for a possible drug overdose.

Car, landscaping equipment stolen from Beachwood apartments

Monday, Sept. 26 — A car and landscaping equipment were reported stolen from the garage at DeVille Apartments between Friday, Sept. 23 and Monday, Sept. 26. Beachwood Police have not said whether they believe the two incidents are connected. The total value of the stolen goods is $1,600. These incidents are under investigation.
