RUN AVRIL RUN AND SABORIT LATIN SOUL AT LEGACY VILLAGE
Where/When: Legacy Village/ Friday for Run Avril Run and Saturday for Saborit Latin Soul, both 7 to 10 p.m.
Why Go: Run Avril Run call themselves Cleveland’s “Dance Your Butt Off Band” and they prove it with high-energy dance songs from Motown, disco and other boogie-down beats. Saborit Latin Soul will cool the August heat with sultry acoustic licks.
HOW TO DECORATE YOUR HOME FOR AUTUMN
Where/When: Pottery Barn/ Sunday at 10 a.m.
Why Go: Like it or not, summer is winding down. But why not embrace the upcoming fall months with a class from the experts at Pottery Barn? They will show you how to decorate your home in the wake of the changing season.
LAST WEEK FOR JEWISH SONGWRITER EXHIBIT
Where/When: Shaker Heights Library/ through August 25
Why Go: This exhibit, which features the works of local artists presented as a complement to another exhibit of books at the library about Jewish songwriters between 1910-1965, will end Aug. 25. The A Fine Romance exhibit of those books is on the first floor while the art gallery is on the second. All art is for sale with a small portion of the proceeds benefiting the Library Endowment Fund.
BAD MEDICINE (BON JOVI TRIBUTE BAND) AT ROCKIN’ ON THE RIVER
Where/When: Fall River Square, Cuyahoga Falls/ Friday from 5 to 11:30 p.m.
Why Go: From Long Island, NY, Bad Medicine features Steve Sage, who bears and uncanny resemblance to Bon Jovi lead singer Jon Bon Jovi. The show also features Jukebox Heroes.
Price: Free admission and free parking!
Where/When: St. Mary Romanian Orthodox Cathedral from 4:30 to 11 p.m. on Friday, 2 to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday.
Why Go: As the summer festival season winds down, celebrate the contribution Romanian-Americans made to the country and area with ethic entertainment, food and crafts. Includes tours of the church and museum and costumed folk bands playing traditional music.
