Beachwood Schools Provides Support to Parents, Children
District posts resources for parents and children who are having a tough time dealing with Sandy Hook tragedy.
Beachwood City Schools are providing support to parents and students in the wake of the horrific shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Ct.
Director of Pupil Services Lauren Broderick posted a letter to parents Monday outlining the schools' response and a few online resources for parents of children who are dealing with the event.
"I hope that these resources provide guidance for you and your children as we all react as a nation to this senseless act of violence and begin to cope with this event," Broderick wrote.
She added that the schools did not address the issue with students in aplanned capacity, but prepared their staff to deal with questions in an age-appropriate way as they arose.
