Beachwood City Council to Consider Anti-Poaching Agreement

Beachwood would join more than half of Cuyahoga County communities in pledge.

Beachwood City Council will consider joining more than two dozen Cuyahoga County communities in signing an anti-poaching pledge at tonight's council meeting.

In signing the agreement, penned by County Executive Ed Fitzgerald, cities pledge not to poach businesses from other communities. Businesses located in cities that sign have an easier time qualifying for $100 million in economic development funds.

An economic development report the city commissioned reccommended that the city join the anti-poaching protocol.

City Council meets tonight at 7 p.m. in City Hall.
