Drivers in Beachwood take note: the city's ban on most cell phone uses in the car takes effect this week.
The law, passed by City Council June 18, prohibits drivers from using wireless communication devices - including cell phones and GPS devices - with their hands.
That includes texting, answering a phone call and looking up directions unless voice commands or hands-free headsets are used.
With a $101 fine and a two-point license penalty, the law is one of a few in this area that is stricter than the state’s ban on texting for drivers.

Then the city needs to ban eating in the car and possibly picking up a map for directions, etc.
Texting, emails etc should be banned but this is extreme.
