Beachwood Cell Phone Ban, Business Incentives and More on Tonight's Agenda
City Council, Economic Development Committee meetings set for tonight
Beachwood could enact a cell phone ban and will discuss incentives programs and the city’s Conventions & Visitor’s Bureau tonight.
Tonight’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting will be immediately followed by an economic development committee meeting.
Included on the council agenda is a proposed cell phone ban for drivers, which was read at the last meeting but not voted on.
Council will also consider a proposal to run Pepper Pike’s emergency dispatch services and an ordinance that would allow Beachwood City Schools to widen its Richmond Road entrance to Beachwood High School.
An Economic Development Committee meeting has been scheduled immediately following the Council meeting.
The committee will discuss an economic incentive program to lure new businesses to the city, the Beachwood Convention and Visitor’s Bureau — which the city has contracted the Chamber of Commerce to oversee — and a part-time hire in the economic development department.
